General Instructions: Before opening, carefully read the Directions for Use, Precautionary Statements, Safety Directions and First Aid Instructions. Equipment used for this chemical should not be used to treat sensitive plants unless you wash it well with hot soapy water, or a 1% ammonia solution, followed by several clear water rinses. Affray 300 Herbicide stays compatible with biological control agents. Therefore, you can use it in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programmes.

Restraint: Avoid use in sown pasture.

The Affray 300 Herbicide directions for use make no mention of using a wetting agent, so it would be optional. If targeting hard to kill plants such as Groundsel Bush, Mother of Millions, Noogoora Burr and Bathurst Burr via a foliar spray, then we would recommend a wetting agent be used to ensure the best coverage and penetration of the chemical.

Tips For Use

Apply when weeds grow actively, because 2,4-D moves best through growing tissue.
Match the method to the weed. Use basal bark or cut stump for woody species, and overall spray for foliage.
Do not spray in high winds. Also, do not spray cereals if lucerne is present.
Avoid spray drift onto susceptible crops such as cotton, tobacco, tomatoes, vines, fruit trees, vegetables, legumes, oilseeds and sensitive trees.
Spray only when wind speed sits above 3 km/h and below 15 km/h at the site.
Use coarse to very coarse droplets, per the ASAE S572 standard, to cut drift.
Wash equipment thoroughly before you use it on sensitive plants.
Store in the closed original container in a cool, well-ventilated area away from children, animals, food and fertilisers.

Safety Directions

Affray 300 Herbicide is poisonous if swallowed. It may be fatal if swallowed and enters the airways.
Avoid contact with eyes and skin, and do not inhale spray mist.
The product may cause serious eye damage and an allergic skin reaction.
It is also a combustible liquid, so keep it away from heat, sparks and open flames.
When preparing spray, wear a PVC or rubber apron, elbow-length PVC gloves and a face shield.
When using the prepared spray, wear a face shield.
If product contacts skin, immediately wash the area with soap and water.
If product enters the eyes, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes and remove contact lenses if easy to do.
After use, and before eating, drinking or smoking, wash hands, arms and face thoroughly with soap and water.
Wash gloves, face shield and contaminated clothing after each day’s use.
